Historic village

Set behind the promenade is the village itself. A typical Provençal village, full of charm.  Narrow, cobbled streets wind through old stone houses with pastel shutters faded by the summer sun. At the heart of the village is a 19th Century sundial with “NEC PLURIBUS IMPAR”, a motto of Louis XIV (the Sun King) meaning ‘above all men’ proudly displayed.

Fountains dotted throughout the village offer spots to stop, cool down and take in the beauty of this historic place. Bauduen has preserved traces of its history, including the 16th Century Church of Saint-Pierre, hidden amongst the trees at the top of the village. From here, you look down over faded red roof tops and down onto the water of the lake. It is impossible not to get the camera out!
