Berlin's Hebbel Theater (1908) was the only house in Berlin to survive the bombings of World War II and to operate right up to the end. After the war, the house was contained within West Berlin and reopened almost immediately with "Threepenny Opera" the Lotte Lenya production that would eventually make it to off-Broadway.
Since 1908 the theatre's street address has changed from Koeniggraetzer Street to Stressemann Street; to Saarland Street (in 1940); extension of Hermann Goering Street; and currently Stressemann Street again. The Hebbel is circled, almost dead center, is this 1963 map showing the wall.
The ticket stubs and program are for a 7:30 pm performance on September 15, 1940. The attraction was "Theres und die Hoheit."
