2022: Second Team All-CCIW (defense)... Played in all 11 games... Made 35 solo tackles with 34 assists... Had eight tackles-for-a-loss... Had three pass breakups and one fumble recovery... Academic All-CCIW.

2021: Played in all 11 games... Made 10 solo tackles with seven assists... Had 3.5 tackles-for-a-loss and one sack... Recorded two pass breakups... Academic All-CCIW.

2020: No season due to COVID-19.

Previous College: Attended Miami (Fla.) for one year and played rugby.

High School: Three-year letterwinner at The Westminster Schools … Also lettered four years in track, two in wrestling and one in swimming … Earned 10 varsity letters … Was member of Swimming & Diving State Championship Team … National Honor Society … Honor Roll.

Personal: Son of Michael and Sandy Schmal … Oldest brother Sam was an All-ACC lineman at Boston College... Majoring in economics and strategy with minors in anthropology and computer science.
