Artists rally to keep Klingender show on the road
Elizabeth Fortescue
The art world is in deep mourning for the loss of renowned Indigenous art expert and art dealer Tim Klingender, 59, after an apparent boating accident off Sydney Heads last week. Tech entrepreneur Andrew Findlay, with whom Klingender had been fishing off the coast, is missing, presumed dead.
But Klingender’s flag will fly at Sydney Contemporary art fair at Carriageworks in September, thanks to art world luminaries who this week volunteered to make sure the stand won’t want for gravitas and verve in spite of the absence of the man himself.
