ECOWITT digital wireless plant temperature meter with remote sensor provides accurate and instant temperature information. Perfect for your home/garden/greenhouse/yard/office.

When soil temperature monitor paired with a GW1100 Wi-Fi Gateway or a Weather Station Console (HP2551/HP3500/HP3501):

1. View temperature reading on the Live Data page of the WS View Plus or Ecowitt app (requires the gateway and your phone is using the same Wi-Fi network)
2. Up to 8 channels supported. Channel names can be edited on the app.
3. Battery level information displayed on the WS View Plus or Ecowitt App.

When uploaded to Ecowitt Weather Server:

4. View current temperature data & history records & graph on the website.
5. Receive email alerts from the server.
6. Remote monitoring with smart phone, laptop, or computer by visiting the website.

Please do not push the probe into the soil with extensive force by holding the main unit body instead of the probe itself. It is fragile between the probe and main body attachment, which can withstand a maximum force of 5kg. Please don’t insert the sensor into corrosive liquid or hard rock to avoid any damage.

I like the automatic pairing of the sensor with the gateway. I use this soil temperature sensor to see soil temperature readings. Soil temperature and soil humidity provide guidance for grass or crop status. This relates to determination of red flag warnings for fire weather watches. I do not like the documentation. The documentation is unclear and incomplete. It seems like the document provided on their web site is for code written in C, C++, or possibly even Java. The gateway is very hard to access, and even if you are very experienced programmer it is very likely you will need to contact support. You might even need to do a review stating facts they to not like to get their attention to actually get support to provide meaningful help. I would like it if they provided some code examples in the most popular programming languages like 1) C, 2) Java, or others. If you already know C and have used telnet before then you should be able to figure out how to use the gateway.

This product was the top result for "soil moisture". Shame on me for not getting the right model. If you want soil MOISTURE readings, then go with Ecowitt's WH51 model (which I have since ordered multiple). This WN34BS model only tells me the temperature of the soil which is boring.

Erstmal, Verbinden mit der Hauptstation ohne weiteres Zutun und Problemlos. Batterie hält jetzt schon seit einem Monat ohne messbare Schwächen zu zeigen. Mein Thema ist, ich habe eine Wasserleitung bei 50cm Tiefe und will gewarnt werden wenn es unter 3 Grad geht...die Sonde ist ca. 40cm lang...kann man kompensieren in dem man den Sensor leicht eingräb und mit einem KG Rohr "einhaust". Dann geht sogar der Funk grad noch. Sonst sehr zuverlässig. Also Top für den Einsatzzweck.
