About the authors
I’ve been writing romance for over twenty-five years now, and have had the privilege of writing for New York publishers, small innovative E-publishers, as well as Indie publishing my own work. Indie publishing has proven to be the best of all worlds for an author like myself, who enjoys writing in all sub-genres of romance, including the young adult genre (my personal favorite).
Aside from writing and reading, I’m obsessed with history, love research, traveling, and riding motorcycles with my hubby, my first and only love, who stole my heart when I was fourteen and he was eighteen (yes, he robbed the cradle). I am also a medium, which gives me a unique perspective when writing about the paranormal and characters like Riley, who can see, hear, and feel spirits.
I'm passionate about books, and I'll never tire of writing love stories.

I don't even LIKE stories that have ghost in them.
I hated Tales from the Crypt, and stuck up my nose to the Goosebumps series as a kid... Simply because I'm a big chicken.
But I can read this book and enjoy it thoroughly.
The Haunted literally begins where The Deepest Cut ended. And Riley thinks that everything should be back to normal in her life.
She has helped Ian MacKinnon pass over to the other side, and naturally assumes that Laria's evil spirit self has left her. And then she sees creepy Laria starring at her outside of her school. (Note:1st creepy shudder of this review)
Things after that quickly get dangerous for Riley.
This time, Laria is not just attacking her. She is aiming at anyone that Riley is close to, and what Riley can't figure out is WHY Laria is still haunting her...
Ms. Templeton gives us a lot more depth to the characters. ALL the characters. (Secondary included) - I found myself getting slightly attached to them, and each story of their lives. She gives us drops of their family lives, personalities that make you thoroughly enjoy the book.
And along with the plot, it makes the book impressive. It's able to stand along the first.
Laria.
She is the freakiest little ghost I ever read about.
Scratch that, she's a freak of nature.
Picture the chick from The Ring......
Just her alone makes this book a mature YA. Anytime I read a scene with her, I braced myself. I was reading this book in the middle of the night, and I thought about getting a drink, and then thought about Laria. I soon thought, "Ehh.... Maybe I'm not THAT thirsty..."
Ms. Templeton makes her totally creepy, and if I believed in ghost, Laria is how I would picture them to be!!
Riley.
I have to give this sixteen year old massive props....
If you had an evil spirit attached to you like a leach what would your reaction be?
Mine's simple: A vile of holy water on hand, and daily visits to the local priest....
But Riley stands pretty damn strong considering all the harassing that Laria does- and other spirits that just won't leave the Earth- to her.
If you read, The Deepest Cut , you probably fell in love with Ian like the majority of us. AND if you haven't, I won't give you spoilers. I'll just simply say that Kade MacKinnon makes everything okay in the hott-European-dude department.
You're doubtful.. shame! This little description should be a enough to make you buy the book A.S.A.freakin'.P.
"My pulse skittered seeing Kade, sans shirt, playing football. He had an incredible body-nice wide chest, perfect pecs, a solid six-pack and the deep V that disappeared beneath the waistband of his pants. The same deep V that made girls get stupid, myself included."
Oh Riley.... I think we all just got stupid from that description....
I felt like the ending was a big cliffhanger... I went to click onto the next page, and...
what. the. what....
The story was over!
BUT (because there's always a but..) I did enjoy how things weren't quickly wrapped up at the end of this book. Book 3 I think is a going to have lot of things answered.. Ms. Templeton knows,oh so knows, and she torturing us with it!!
I anxiously await the third book, The Departed
I always enjoy Ms. Templeton's writing. The pragmatic voice she gives to the teenagers in this book is dead on.
I could picture in my head the kids actually talking like they do. Accent's in Germany are very thick. But I now have a major urge to travel to Scotland...... ;)
I HIGHLY recommend this book if you enjoy a great Mature YA book, and of course Ghost.
I did love that Kade was in the story and that he was connected to Ian. I have to admit, I missed Ian quite a bit! I really loved him in the first book. I liked that all the original characters were in this book as well, I love Shane and Miss A! I liked that Riley was truly accepted into the group of Megan, Cass and Cait too. I hope in the next book we will be able to find out what happened to Anne Marie as well?!
I feel like there were so many more questions raised in this book, it's hard to wait for the next one to come out!! I'm hoping it'll be very early spring?! Overall this was a great addition to the story and I'm very excited for the next one in the series! Hopefully it's longer and comes out soon!!
GRAMMAR: I add this because there are some that go on about books having grammar errors, but I honestly don't see any here except a "hasn't is" or something like that, but that could be the Scottish dialect or something. ^^
Its a little over the top on the evil.spirits
Good book either way
Author has a good imagination

Their immediate attraction infuriates Laria, the evil spirit, who has also returned, albeit in spirit form. This time Laria is even more evil and dangerous than before, furious that Ian’s soul has returned and that he’s back with Riely. Laria manages to hurt Riley and her family in a number of ways, often not caring about having an audience.
Kade feels a connection with Riley but he has no idea that Riley can see ghosts, that she was in love with his ‘ancestor’ ghost Ian or that Riley cuts. In this way Kade is different to Ian because Ian knew all Riley’s secrets, mostly because he could spy on her!
This book was scarier than the first because Laria possessed quite a few people, and physically hurt Riley on several occasions. Plus there are other dark spirits around that are trying to cause trouble. Hopefully in the third book we’ll finally see Riley able to protect herself in some way, rather than getting hurt or being saved by friendly spirits.
Favourite Quotes:
Despite the fact that Kade was at practice, which was a relief in itself, I had to be sure not to say anything or let on that this wasn’t my first visit to their home. It’s not like I’d blurt out, “Hey, I’m the one who broke into your home while you were on holiday to perform a ritual to free your ancestor Ian from a curst put on him by a dead, but very evil witch.” Yeah, that’d go over so well.
Tempers ran high, especially in the city where everyone was in a hurry to get where they were going. It didn’t matter if you were halfway around the world. People were people.
At least I was having a good hair night. I couldn’t say the same for Dana, who had gone with an updo that made her nose look bigger. “There are mean spirits everywhere...just as there are mean people everywhere. A person doesn’t change who they are when they die. If an earthbound spirit was cruel in life, then that spirit would be cruel in death.”
I knew too well the feeling of having someone you care about die. A piece of you dies with them.
The Haunted introduced us to a stronger and braver Riley who wasn't as focused on boy drama as she has been in previous books and although I absolutely enjoyed the love story running through it was refreshing to see a different side to the heroine. I loved the girl power feel of this book and how Riley would do anything to protect her friends. She managed to over come challenges with her dad and with herself and the limits of what I could handle on the scary front were pushed.
Its difficult to express how much I enjoyed this trilogy without talking about things that may spoil the experience for people who have not read this book so I will keep this short and sweet.
I loved this read
