Elena Gatti, plastic artist, born in 1950 in Argentina. He graduated from the “Lino Enea Spilimbergo” Visual Arts School-Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires province. In 1979, motivated by the dictatorial system of government, she left her country. His first residence was Barcelona, ​​then he lived in Germany, before settling in Mallorca. Currently, it is represented by art galleries in Germany and Austria. This is how the painter Elena Gatti describes her way of working, there are no previous sketches, the work is created intuitively, the images arise from things, situations, encounters with which I have lived or seen. His images speak of feeling and love, closeness and distance. They are moods of the soul that meet the emotions of the viewer. “Inspiration through melancholy,” says the painter. This process that goes from the intention to the canvas is not only worked by her with colors, sometimes she incorporates collage with newspaper or paper cuttings, brings in everyday materials and thus pushes still life a little closer to our present life.
