A cheerful picture, a picture of longing. The title alone is a statement of longing. Perhaps based on a scripture (e.g. 1 Corinthians 13)? But the topic has accompanied mankind for thousands of years.
What do we see?
A dark to light brown beach with gentle waves. A turquoise to dark blue ocean, endless (forever) to the horizon.
Above it is a blue and white holiday sky. Somehow also endless. The sun cannot be seen in the picture. She is probably on the right behind the viewer of the picture. We only see the shadows.
In the center of the picture hovers a huge heart, with gentle, soft contours, over the sea. The heart represents the part of heaven that it covers. The heart as big as the eternal longing? It doesn't cast a shadow.
A hiking or pilgrim's stick is stuck vertically in the beach. A support, but not a crutch. Symbol for the changes of love, for the journey of life in earthly existence?
As seen by the observer on the right of the picture, a dandelion plant grows out of the otherwise vegetation-free beach. It has withered, already bearing the spherically arranged seeds in the seed stand - a dandelion. A gentle breeze blows the seeds over the beach and sea. Where?
Hello everybody,
I am on Artmajeur, because I can reach many, many people, who are interested in art, enjoy art, love art, buy art. And I can show my paintings and surrealistic sculptures to these people.
I was born and went to school in Sandhausen, a village near Heidelberg, in the Palatinate in Germany. Afterwards I learned the craft of type setter. Which provided a solid education for my development as an artist.
Thereafter attending the former Werkkunstschule Mannheim to become a graphic designer and then, after some years, I started my artistic work with drawings, collages, abstract and expressionistic paintings leading to surrealistic motifs. And I designed also works of art for architectural projects.
Permanent artistic development is important for me. Time and again I am experimenting with Colours, techniques and motifs, guided, escorted and inspired by great artists as role models.
I show my paintings at art exhibitions in Germany and abroad, e.g. in France, Italy and Poland, cooperating with art galleries, art societies, hotels and other companies.
My paintings are invitations to my audience, like meeting points of our fantasies. Quite a fascinating rendezvous, full of surprises.
