NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann is expected to return to court on Tuesday and face charges in the murder of a fourth woman whose remains were found in the coastal community, according to reports from multiple outlets.

Heuermann is accused of killing Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello, whose remains were found in close proximity to one another near Gilgo Beach in December 2010. He has pleaded not guilty in each count.

The 59-year-old architect has been tied to the murders through DNA, cell phone data and burner phones, prosecutors have said.

Prosecutors have also said that Heuermann is the prime suspect in the killing of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, whose remains were found with the other three women.

Sources for Newsday and News12 confirmed that Heuermann will appear in court on Tuesday – three weeks before his next scheduled appearance.

Newsday’s sources said that Heuermann will be in Suffolk County Supreme Court Justice Timothy Mazzei's Riverhead courtroom on Tuesday morning.

Sources for ABC News said that while in court Tuesday, prosecutors are expected to announce that a grand jury has charged him in the fourth murder.

Brainard-Barnes was found bound with a belt that has distinctive markings with the initials “WH” or “HM,” which prosecutors have said could stand for Heuermann’s father.

Heuermann has been held without bail since his arrest on July 13.
