Presentation & tasks of the Hannoveraner Verband:

The Hannoveraner Verband is a registered association with its headquarters in Verden (Aller). In total, the association employs about 57 employees. The office is organized into five departments: Studbook Domestic, Studbook Foreign, Training and Sales Center (AAZ), Public Relations and Accounting.
The statutory task of the association is the breeding organization including the issuing of breeding documents and horse passports and the identification and registration of horses. The organization of breeding events in the form of mare shows, stallion approvals or performance tests also fall within the scope of the studbook. While the Stud Book is responsible for breeding matters in Germany, advice and support for foreign breeders is part of the responsibilities of the Foreign, Development and Consulting Department. The Training and Sales Center (AAZ) forms the largest department next to the Stud Book. It is mainly in charge of planning, organizing and conducting the Verden auctions. About 800 foals, riding horses and stallions are sold annually. In addition, Hanoverian breeders have the opportunity to place their horses in the AAZ for training and further education.
In 2020, there were 7348 active members registered in the Hannoveraner Verband, as well as 14490 registered broodmares of which 8283 were covered.

Yes, you can. The outdoor area, which was redesigned in 2020, can be visited at any time. The stables and the association building can be visited on a guided tour. In addition, the visitor learns exciting facts about the history of the association.

Tickets can also be purchased for many events.

How many horses are on the association grounds?

The stables of the Hannoveraner Verband are divided into two main wings with seven and four stables respectively. In addition, there is the Verden covering area with stallion and mare stalls as well as the so-called 14-stall stall for special occupancy. In the main stables, which are adjacent to the Niedersachsenhalle, there is capacity for around 150 horses. This is where the auctions take place, as well as the stallion licensing and other major events. The training horses are located in the former Hanoverian Riding and Driving School with about 80 stalls. The number of horses housed on the association grounds varies greatly throughout the year.
