ABT, which specializes in tuning VW Group models, has created yet another hot Leon, this time based on the Cupra R ST.

By fitting their own ECU to the 2.0-liter turbo-four, the tuner has bumped the output from 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, to 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft).

The aftermarket suspension springs have lowered the Leon Cupra R ST by 15 mm (0.6 in) at the front and 20 mm (0.8 in) at the rear, thus “making cornering even more fun”, according to ABT, who has also replaced the stock 19-inch rims with 20-inch ones from their GR series.

ABT has already launched an even more powerful variant of the Leon Cupra R ST.

This one sports 370 PS (365 hp / 272 kW) and the ability to complete the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 4.5 seconds, as part of the ABT tuning pack that added a £500 ($644/€575) premium to the car’s £37,975 ($48,912/€43,658) starting price in the UK. Production is limited, with 150 units destined for Britain.
