Katana - Samurai sword for officers of the imperial Japanese army in World War II. According to research, the name of the then Tenno (Emperor) Hirohito is written on the sword. In addition: 昭和十五年 (Shōwa jū go-nen) Showa year 15 = 1940 (the 15th year of the emperor’s reign, which was 1940). 岡村寧次 = Okamura Yasuji (Okamura Yasuji was a general of the imperial Japanese army. He was the commander of the China Expeditionary Army from November 1944 until the end of the Pacific War) I don’t think that this was actually his sword. Apparently, the owner has served in his army section.
