Mark Albright PharmD, BCCP Rotations: Cardiology (PGY1), Advanced heart failure (PGY2 Cardiology), Heart failure clinic (PGY2 Cardiology) Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Ohio State University) Residency: PGY1 and PGY2 Cardiology at University of Virginia Medical Center About: Dr. Albright started at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital in 2021 after completing a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Cardiology Pharmacy residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. His current role is clinical pharmacist with the majority of his time spent working on the advanced heart failure service, Cardiovascular ICU, and telemetry units. Mark is extremely excited to help the advanced heart failure service line, cardiology pharmacy residency program, and the individual pharmacy residents develop and mature over time. It is one of the most satisfying and rewarding parts of the job. Mark earned his undergraduate and PharmD degrees from Ohio State (Go Bucks!) and always enjoy cheering on the Buckeyes, Reds, and Blue Jackets outside of work.
Kimberly Arvin PharmD, BCACP Rotations: Populations Health (PGY2 Cardiology) Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (UC James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy – 2011) Residency: PGY1 Community Residency Program with Kroger Health/ University of Cincinnati About: Kim has been a pharmacist since 2011 and joined the Population Health team at TriHealth in 2019. Kim works as one of our Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacists providing medication management services for our primary care physician offices. Prior to joining TriHealth, Kim worked at UC Health in the outpatient pharmacy providing medication management, pharmacotherapy and “meds to beds” services. She also worked as a Pharmacy Manager at Kroger and provided medication and disease management services as a part of their clinical services.
Matthew Bremer PharmD Rotations: Administration (PGY1 & PGY2 Cardiology) Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (UC James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy) About: Dr. Bremer joined TriHealth in 1999 as a pharmacy intern while attending the University of Cincinnati. For the past 22 years, he has worked for TriHealth in various job roles throughout the pharmacy service line. After graduation, Matt worked for several years as clinical staff pharmacist, working in ICU, oncology, and general medical-surgical care. Eventually, he transitioned to department clinical coordinator to elevate department clinical pharmacy activities/roles. With the organization’s transition to electronic medical records/computerized physician order entry, he was tasked with leading the pharmacy and oncology EMR build/workflows for a couple of years starting a role for clinical informatics. With growth and expansion in the complexity of TriHealth’s hospital systems and network, Matt took on role of system Clinical Manager, responsible for oversight and management of the system inpatient and hospital outpatient infusion center medication formulary to develop drug policy as well as clinical pharmacy programs. Recently, he took a department management role at Bethesda North inpatient hospital. Bethesda North has an incredible collegial work environment and he enjoys seeing the evolution of our pharmacists in entrenching themselves in patient care in many different capacities. In his free time, Dr Bremer enjoys spending time with his family and doing about anything outdoors (sports, hiking, camping) as well as travelling to just about anywhere when the opportunity arises.
Audra DeChristopher PharmD, BCCCP, BCPS Rotations: Critical Care (PGY1 & PGY2 Cardiology), Code Blue- Longitudinal (PGY1 & PGY2 Cardiology) Training and Education: Undergraduate: Ohio State University , Graduate: University of Cincinnati Residency: UC Health – West Chester Hospital About: Cincinnati native and avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, Dr. DeChristopher enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and watching/playing sports, especially soccer. She lived in Arizona for three years prior to starting at TriHealth in 2019 and the Southwest holds a special place in my heart. The favorite part of her job is interacting with a multidisciplinary team, being involved in various committees, and teaching.
Alec Diehl, PharmD Rotations: Infectious Diseases (PGY1 and PGY2) Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy – University of Cincinnati (2019) Residency: PGY1 – Bethesda North Hospital (2020) About: Dr. Diehl first joined the Bethesda North pharmacy department in March of 2014 as a volunteer while completing his undergraduate education. He immediately felt at home and was soon hired on as a pharmacy technician. Dr. Diehl transitioned into the role of intern upon entry into pharmacy school and matched with Bethesda North to complete a PGY1 residency thereafter. His passion for infectious diseases first developed while taking an undergraduate microbiology course and continued to grow during his pharmacy education and rotations. In his spare time, Dr. Diehl enjoys running and participating in races (preferably half-marathon or shorter).
Alexander Gray PharmD, BCPS, BCCP Rotations: Cardiology (PGY1), General Cardiology I (PGY2 Cardiology), Advanced heart failure (PGY2 Cardiology), PGY2 Cardiology RPD Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Ohio Northern University – 2013) Residency: Henry Ford Allegiance Health – Jackson, MI About: Dr. Gray joined TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital in 2014 after completion of his PGY1 residency. After working as a clinical pharmacist for 5 years, he officially started the PGY2 Cardiology program and moved into his current position of Cardiology Clinical Coordinator. What Alex enjoys most about working at TriHealth is the opportunity to grow and build a program from the ground up. Alex also enjoys his great co-workers who make coming to work even more fun. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys soccer, a lot, including playing in recreation leagues and going to FC Cincinnati games. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family, including his three children.
Emily Kanis, PharmD, BCPS Rotations: Internal Medicine (PGY1), Internal Medicine II (PGY1), Longitudinal Teaching (PGY1) Training and Education: Undergraduate: B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Akron (2017), Graduate: PharmD from the LECOM School of Pharmacy - Erie (2020) Residency: Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital (2021) About: Dr. Kanis joined the TriHealth Bethesda North pharmacy team in 2021 after completing her PGY1 pharmacy residency at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital in her hometown of Akron, OH. She currently works as a clinical pharmacist in the ICU, emergency department, and internal medicine nursing units. She loves all things pharmacy and has a passion for teaching students and residents. Nothing makes her happier than seeing the spark of understanding in a learner when things finally click for them. When she is not at the hospital, she loves powerlifting, reading, and exploring Cincinnati with her husband.
Wayne McDermott PharmD, BCCCP Rotations: Emergency Medicine (PGY2 Cardiology) Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Northeastern University, Boston, MA – 2003) About: Dr. McDermott graduated from Northeastern University located in Boston MA, in 2003. He then spent 6 years with the Texas A&M University Aggies in College Station, Texas where he developed their hospital’s first critical care pharmacist position. While there, he precepted students from all over Texas including Texas Tech, University of Texas, Houston, and the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio Texas. He transferred his services to Bethesda North in 2009 and now functions as a specialist in critical care and emergency medicine. Wayne is originally from New York which explains his brazen style and absurd respect for New York sports teams.
Janet Meister CPhT, BSPS, MR.PharmS Rotations: Orientation (PGY1 & PGY2 Cardiology) Training and Education: Sunderland polytechnic UK, Monroe Community College, Ohio State University, Sunderland University UK. About: Janet grew up in the North East of England where she became a certified pharmacy technician while working for an independent chemist (pharmacy). She immigrated to the US where she furthered my education and became a registered pharmacist. Janet has practiced pharmacy in England, Massachusetts, and Ohio. She has crossed the Atlantic to live between the US and UK three times and loves living in both countries for different reasons. She has been in the states 15 years now and worked for TriHealth for over 14 years. Janet really loves travelling, especially abroad. Hobbies include hiking, swimming (for leisure) and spending time with her family. My favorite part of pharmacy is working in a multidiscipline team setting with fantastic coworkers.
Nate Miller PharmD, BCPS, BCOP Rotations: Malignant Hematology Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (UC James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy) Residency: PGY1 - Bethesda North Hospital (2018) About: Dr Miller was born and raised in the Clifton neighborhood of Cincinnati. He spent 4 years in Brunswick, Maine for his undergraduate education and obtained a bachelor’s in chemistry. After enduring dozens of snowstorms and eating countless lobster rolls in the Pine Tree State, Nate returned to his more temperate hometown to pursue a career in pharmacy. He completed at PGY1 residency at Bethesda North Hospital and then stayed on to be a clinical pharmacist working mainly with the antimicrobial stewardship team and in the medical oncology unit. In 2021, Nate transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital to assume a lead role with the hematology/oncology service line.
Veronica (Ronnie) Moore PharmD, BCPS Rotations: PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Director, Longitudinal Staffing (PGY1), Longitudinal Administration (PGY1) Training and Education: University of Cincinnati: Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences (1991), Master of Arts in Secondary Education (1997), and Doctorate of Pharmacy (2007). Residency: University of Cincinnati Medical Center About: Dr Moore was hired to establish an emergency medicine pharmacy practice at Bethesda North Hospital. She spent 14 years specializing in emergency medicine and during her tenure was designated as the Lead Emergency Medicine Pharmacist. She is an adjunct Assistant Professor at the James L Winkle University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy, where she founded the Emergency Medicine Therapeutics elective and functions as coordinator for the course. She is currently the Clinical Coordinator for Bethesda North Hospital. In this role, she supports the clinical pharmacy staff and serves as the PGY1 Residency Program Director. Dr Moore enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and 9-year-old son during her free time.
Michelle Papathanas PharmD, BCCCP Rotations: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (PGY1 and PGY2), Residency Research Coordinator (PGY1 & PGY2) Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (University of Cincinnati – 2015) Residency: PGY1 - The University of Chicago Medicine (2016), PGY2 Critical Care – Emory University Hospital (2017) About: Dr. Papathanas graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy in 2015. She completed her PGY1 residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center followed by a PGY2 in critical care at Emory University Hospital. She started at TriHealth in early 2020 after previously working as the clinical pharmacist in a Medical ICU in central Alabama. She currently works as a clinical pharmacy specialist in the medical and cardiovascular ICU. Outside of pharmacy she is an avid reader and enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite part of pharmacy is precepting students and residents as well as working with the multidisciplinary critical care team.
Jeffrey Reed PharmD Rotations: Hematology / Medical Oncology (PGY1) Training and Education: Doctor Of Pharmacy - University Of Cincinnati, 1999; BS Pharmacy - University Of Cincinnati, 1997 About: Dr. Reed joined the ranks of TriHealth in 2005 and has been the primary medical oncology pharmacist since 2007. As the lead pharmacist for our patients on the medical oncology unit, Jeff ensures the best care is provided for our oncology patients, whether treating them in-house or optimizing supportive care after their outpatient treatment.
Amy Seither, PharmD Rotations: Cardiology Rounding Service (PGY2 Cardiology); Electrophysiology and Interventional Rounding services (PGY2 Cardiology); Residency Research Coordinator (PGY2 Cardiology) Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy with minors in chemistry and patient care research (Butler University; Indianapolis, IN) (2020) Residency: PGY1 UC Health – West Chester Hospital (2021); PGY2 Cardiology TriHealth – Bethesda North Hospital (2022) About: Dr. Seither stayed on at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital after completion of her PGY2 Cardiology Pharmacy Residency in 2022. She took on the role of Cardiology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist where she spends her time working with the Advanced Heart Failure service and Cardiovascular ICU. She is excited for the opportunity to precept learners of all backgrounds and to help grow the residency program and research curriculum. She enjoys listening to audiobooks, spending time with family and friends, and trying new restaurants around town.
Kristina Songer, PharmD, BCPS Rotations: Residency Research Coordinator (PGY1) Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Belmont University – 2017) Residency: PGY1 – Miami Valley Hospital (2018) About: Dr. Songer joined TriHealth in 2021 after spending several years as an internal medicine clinical staff pharmacist following her residency. She is the lead internal medicine pharmacist at Bethesda North and is always looking for ways to help improve patient care. She works primarily in the internal medicine and emergency departments as well as on the antibiotic advisory team. The favorite part of her job is precepting residents and students. She enjoys finding new restaurants to try and playing with her dogs in her free time.
Brittany Turner, PharmD, BCPS Rotations: Emergency Medicine (PGY1) Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy – University of Cincinnati (2015) Residency: PGY1 – Confluence Health Central Washington Hospital (2016) About: After completing residency in Washington State, Dr. Turner returned to her hometown of Cincinnati and accepted a position to stay on as a clinical pharmacist at Bethesda North. She currently serves as the Lead Pharmacist for the Bethesda North Region Emergency Departments. She also serves as the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience Coordinator for Bethesda North. She enjoys precepting students and residents at all stages of their training and supporting them both personally and professionally. Brittany also serves on our Antibiotic Advisory Team and completed her Antimicrobial Certificate via the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists. Brittany’s pride and joy is her young son Matthew, and they can often be found playing at splash pads or at swim lessons, vacationing (Disney World is a favorite), or just exploring the different areas Cincinnati has to offer.

About: Dr. Reed joined the ranks of TriHealth in 2005 and has been the primary medical oncology pharmacist since 2007. As the lead pharmacist for our patients on the medical oncology unit, Jeff ensures the best care is provided for our oncology patients, whether treating them in-house or optimizing supportive care after their outpatient treatment.

About: Dr. Seither stayed on at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital after completion of her PGY2 Cardiology Pharmacy Residency in 2022. She took on the role of Cardiology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist where she spends her time working with the Advanced Heart Failure service and Cardiovascular ICU. She is excited for the opportunity to precept learners of all backgrounds and to help grow the residency program and research curriculum. She enjoys listening to audiobooks, spending time with family and friends, and trying new restaurants around town.

Kristina Songer, PharmD, BCPS

Residency: PGY1 – Miami Valley Hospital (2018)

About: Dr. Songer joined TriHealth in 2021 after spending several years as an internal medicine clinical staff pharmacist following her residency. She is the lead internal medicine pharmacist at Bethesda North and is always looking for ways to help improve patient care. She works primarily in the internal medicine and emergency departments as well as on the antibiotic advisory team. The favorite part of her job is precepting residents and students. She enjoys finding new restaurants to try and playing with her dogs in her free time.

Brittany Turner, PharmD, BCPS

Rotations: Emergency Medicine (PGY1)

Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy – University of Cincinnati (2015)

Residency: PGY1 – Confluence Health Central Washington Hospital (2016)

About: After completing residency in Washington State, Dr. Turner returned to her hometown of Cincinnati and accepted a position to stay on as a clinical pharmacist at Bethesda North. She currently serves as the Lead Pharmacist for the Bethesda North Region Emergency Departments. She also serves as the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience Coordinator for Bethesda North. She enjoys precepting students and residents at all stages of their training and supporting them both personally and professionally. Brittany also serves on our Antibiotic Advisory Team and completed her Antimicrobial Certificate via the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists. Brittany’s pride and joy is her young son Matthew, and they can often be found playing at splash pads or at swim lessons, vacationing (Disney World is a favorite), or just exploring the different areas Cincinnati has to offer.
