Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon, Sunset, Blue Hour, Night
You can visit the Westfriedhof Subway Station any month of year. Since it's underground the lighting and environment won't change.
Though you can capture a familiar shot any time of day (I took this mid-day), I recommend visiting in the early morning or late at night when there are fewer people transiting. All that said, capturing a photo of the station at its busiest can also be interesting!

Field tips

By using a wide-angle lens (28mm) you can maximize the capture of the station and hanging lights.
To capture the passenger platform empty or with fewer people, wait until after the train arrives and departs.
This station is perfect for a symmetrical shot. Try standing in the middle of the platform and centering the round-shaped lights and the long seats in your frame.

Do nearby

Make the most of Olympiapark München which has a stadium, guided tours, sea life center, rock museum and concerts. You will never run out of things to do here! I recommend sparing at least half a day to explore the park. Inside, you also have a hilltop viewpoint called Aussichtspunkt Olympiaberg which has a great view of Munich.
