Brooklyn-based independent queer designer Helena Eisenhart made their NYFW debut with their Fall Winter 2023 collection. Eisenhart was inspired by deconstructing traditional uniforms and dress codes, saying “to dress according to a code” also means “to dress in disguise”. Models walked across distressed mirrors against a backdrop of chain link fence, bringing Eisenhart’s rule-breaking world to life. The collection integrates up-cycled and deadstock materials, creating the unisex collection that questions what it means to use garments as a means of conformity, while showing that rules are ultimately meant to be broken.
