My sweet brother Shawn was in a car accident on January 19th.

He was on his way home from work and got into a head-on collision. When I found out, I prayed for so much, but I prayed that Shawn would know God is present. I found out 3 men prayed with him until help arrived and that really meant so much to me!

Shawn was unconscious and had to be extricated from his car. They wanted to life-flight him to Vanderbilt, but the winds were too strong so he went by ambulance. He suffered Traumatic Brain Injuries, a wrist fracture, a fractured femur and wounds that needed stitching.

I was able to visit him, and I plan to visit more, but I live in another state so this is my way of being able to continue to support him when I am back home. I have been so amazed by the love and support from those that knew first, and I'd love to raise funds to help cover medical costs and the therapy he will be needing.

His last name is Cooke, and a natural nickname we received growing up was "cookie". I know he is one tough cookie and a fighter! I will share his progress he made and answered prayers in the next day or two. The best news was him waking up and recognizing my parents and smiling. When my mom sent me a video with his eyes opening, I just cried tears of joy! Ultimately, please continue to pray for him.

He finds a way to enjoy any situation, and one video chat with him on his second time awake at the hospital was when he stuck his tongue out and he touched the tubing for the temp probe and his feeding tube, and he said he was doing a taste test! That's when I knew my little brother was still silly!
