135 books35 followersWerner Sombart was a German economist and sociologist, the head of the “Youngest Historical School” and one of the leading Continental European social scientists during the first quarter of the 20th century. Sombart's later writings reflect his personal philsophy and the anti-Semitism of the Nazi regime. In one of his last publications, A New Social Philosophy (1934), Sombart analyzed social problems “from the point of view of the national socialist [Nazi] way of thinking.”

Nunca pensé calificar tan bajo un libro de tan gran erudito.
Considero que, a pesar del número de citas en varios idiomas, que en otros textos suman más de lo que restan, este texto de Sombart fue ampuloso, difícil de leer y a ratos carecía de un plan de trabajo.
El libro pasó fácilmente de la Historia, a la ética, pasando por cuestiones varias, sin mucha pulcritud. Si bien la intención del autor era buena: delimitar qué es el espíritu burgués y si éste cambiaba durante los siglos, nunca supe yo si el trabajo era uno de carácter monográfico o era una obra de otro carácter. Esta confusión además de lo árido del texto, volvieron la lectura de "El Burgués" en un sufrimiento constante, que sólo puede ser superado por el firme motivo de no volver a leer tamaña basura de nuevo. No sé si esta mala experiencia me hará ignorar otros volúmenes de Sombart; igual es algo prematuro afirmarlo.
No lo recomiendo, y espero existan mejores libros para conocer cómo piensan las personas con mentalidad empresarial, desde una perspectiva histórica.

Kitabın giriş bölümü akıcı ve güzel başlamıştı ama gelişme ve sonuç bölümleri dağınık ve amaçtan uzak. Yumurta tavuk .. ahlak , devlet ve din bölümlerinde ilgimi geçen konu bulamadım. Büyük kısmını okudum gelişmenin ama maalesef sonucu bile okumaya yetmedi kitabın dağınık ve amaçsız anlatımı. Kapitalizm üzerine çok kitap okudum sanırım bu kitap en temel ve sıkıcılarındandı. Bu konu da okuduğunuz ilk kitapsa okuyun ama kapitalizm üzerine başka kitaplarda okudu iseniz benim gibi kütüphaneden alıp okuyun.

Kapitalizmin tarihine felsefe, sosyoloji ve psikolojiyi de katarak ortaya konulmuş bir çalışma. Bir yandan yazıldığı dönemin genel kabul görmüş düşüncelerine "karşı" çıkarken, öte yandan döneminin kimi hakim düşüncelerinin izlerini de taşıyor, (girişimci/burjuvanın etnik kökene dayalı biyolojik özellikleri vs. gibi).
Ama konuya ilgi duyanlarca okunmaması bir eksiklik olur diye düşünüyorum.
