Paul Feig is starting a new incubator to launch the careers of diverse new female filmmakers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The company will be called Powderkeg: Fuse and will begin with the launch of “six short films from an inclusive group of ethnically diverse female directors.”

The director is best known for his female-led comedies like Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters, and currently has a new thriller out called A Simple Favor starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. (It’s a lot of fun.) His determination to pay his success forward and develop new voices is a great next step for a director who famously directs high-profile, female-driven movies. All six short films will be considered backdoor pilots for TV series. It’ll be interesting to see what the filmmakers selected—Hannah Levy and Adriana Robles, Jess de la Merced, Thembi Banks, Talia Osteen, Lizzy Sanford, and Jeanne Jo—come up with.
