Renewable energies, environmentally friendly mobility, energy efficiency or secure data transfer in an increasingly networked world. Digital technologies and microelectronics solutions can address many issues that society is already facing today. This requires skilled workers and, above all, female technicians with STEM training. At Infineon, one of the leading semiconductor companies, women with know-how in the fields of mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology (STEM) find an ideal environment.

Sabine Herlitschka, CEO of Infineon Technologies Austria AG: "Diversity is a proven success factor that we have been living for years at our company. Women in technology play a decisive role in shaping our world. At Infineon, they make significant contributions, for example, in developing concrete technical solutions for climate protection and the energy transition. By making their achievements visible, we want to inspire more young women to pursue technical training and careers. Because for women, this is about highly attractive career opportunities!"

A higher proportion of women in tech jobs strengthens the innovation and competitiveness of companies and also of Europe, as a recent study by McKinsey shows. According to the study, Europe's gross domestic product (GDP) would increase by up to 600 billion euros if the 27 EU member states succeeded in doubling the proportion of women in technology to around 45 percent by 2027.

Careers in technology with the best framework conditions

With its "Diversity & Inclusion" strategy, Infineon has a culture of support and encouragement to help women succeed in technology. Equal opportunities, family friendliness, attractive working and living environments as well as targeted management programs and an appreciative corporate culture are self-evident foundations. The forward-looking range of tasks includes comprehensive offerings such as flexible working hours, training and continuing education, home office and part-time options, mentoring programs, bilingual daycare centers, a company maternity leave management program, vacation care for children, as well as activities to promote health and support for relocation. Infineon Austria was awarded the "berufundfamilie" certificate for its particularly family-friendly commitment.

Investing in talent

Infineon Austria is very committed to awakening young people's interest in technology as early as possible. In the company's daycare center, the "International Daycare Center" in Villach, playful access to science and technology is encouraged. Infineon is a reliable partner for "Girls' and Women's Day," as well as for internships and cooperation with schools, technical colleges and universities. This gives young women access to the high-tech world and enables them to build a network. Together with ORF, the "Women's Award for Digitization and Innovation" was launched in 2022 to honor outstanding female talent in the fields of technology and natural sciences.

High-tech jobs at Infineon

Infineon offers attractive opportunities for experienced professionals, technical graduates* and for students from all over the world. The fields of electrical engineering, physics, automation and mechatronics, IT or chemistry are in demand.
