Elkhorn senior pictures Part 2 - Fall, family and cars

If you missed the first part of Teagan’s custom designed senior portraits, read all about his urban session downtown showcasing his love for skateboarding and his yearbook pictures here.

When we began designing Teagan’s senior portrait experience, one of the things that he mentioned wanting to incorporate in addition to his skateboard was his car. And with a little collaboration, we were able to find a fabulous location that showcased both Teagan and his car. The building, lines and reflections of this location were so fun to incorporate into Teagan’s portraits. Little known fact about me, I love cars - my dad collects Camaros and loves to work on engines, and growing up I spent a lot of time with him out in his garage and driving through car lots. So when Teagan and his family talked about how important his car is to him, I was up for the task!

Teagan and his family also wanted photos with fall foliage, so throughout October I spent a lot of time in my car observing the changing leaves, trying to time it perfectly while also finding a location close to where we were doing the car pictures. And time it right we did! The colors seemed to be right at their peak, and minus a little concern in the morning about weather, we pushed through and the weather was perfect! Notice the family portrait in the lower left hand corner? We also snuck in a few of those - my philosophy is if everyone is there anyways, there’s no reason everyone can’t jump in for a few pictures. I usually keep it brief so that the session still remains focused on the senior, but getting updated family portraits during this special time is a great idea that I’m happy to help!

When all was said and done, between Teagan’s two sessions, we got a great variety of images and I was so excited to meet with the family and show them everything! They opted to meet in person so that I could help them with their final collection decisions. When I meet with clients in person, the first thing I show is a slideshow set to music. This is one of my favorite parts of the entire experience - watching them see their images for the first time. I take note of the pictures that get the biggest reactions, and then we go through them one by one and narrow everything down.

Their final collection consisted of wall art, along with an album, acrylic block, proof set, and a few gift prints. For a quick little video, check out this Instagram reel! (Side note: delivering artwork over the holidays always feels a little more magical!)

A few of the other small items and wall art as part of Teagan’s collection!

I know I say this a lot, but I absolutely love how every senior picture experience is one-of-a-kind. I love getting to know my clients and showcasing the things that they really love. Are you ready for a one-of-a-kind senior session, too? I would love to chat with you and start planning. Click on the button below to get in touch!
