The Engeltor enabled direct access from the then private palace park to the count's part of the cemetery. This limitation was removed after the war. The angel sculptures were created in 1839 by the sculptor A. Möller, the gate probably a little later. The Adoring Angels consist of two connected sandstone blocks.

The iron angel gate is framed by two large angel sculptures on pedestals. The angels were made from sandstone by A. Möller in 1835 on behalf of the castle's mistress, Baroness Charlotte von Lauer-Münchhofen. (Source: Wikipedia)
