What is sapropel?

What is sapropel?

Sapropel is an underground natural resource formed by water sediments containing organic substances created as a result of biodegradation of aquatic plants.

Sapropel is formed in water bodies in which biomass product formation is more intensive than the mineralization process. Favourable conditions for formation of sapropel are provided by forested territories, as well as plains rich in shallow, filled lakes and marshes and valleys of large rivers. Sapropel is formed over several thousand years.

Laksi Sapropel products contain valuable mineral elements that improve the quality of our products and give them unique properties.

Iron

Necessary in the process of blood circulation (for synthesis of haemoglobin), and it is a part of several enzymes in the human body.

Sulphur

Sulphur is an ingredient of proteins and some lipids, as well as participates in energetic metabolism and the process of cleansing of the body.

Calcium

This mineral element is the main part of bone tissue. It affects activity of the heart muscle (myocardium) and nerve tissue, as well as promotes blood clotting, faster healing of bone fractures and wounds. Calcium increases the body’s immunity and lessens inflammation.

Potassium

It participates in metabolic processes and ensures conduction of nerve impulses, as well as muscle contractions. It influences regulation of heart activity.

Manganese

It contains enzymes which regulate exchange of carbohydrates, proteins, calcium and phosphorus in the body. It is necessary for normal operation of sexual glands, growth and haematopoietic organs.

Zinc

It is an ingredient of several enzymes participating in the main metabolic processes and strengthening of the immune system. It is necessary for normal operation of pancreas and pituitary gland.

Chromium

It participates in regulation of haematogenic process, as well as process of carbohydrate metabolism.

Copper

It participates in haematogenic processes and stimulates haematogenic function of bone marrow, as well as synthesis of pituitary gland hormones. It influences exchange of carbohydrates and minerals by decreasing the content of sugar and phosphorus.

Nickel

It is necessary for haematogenic processes, and is important for ensuring the structure of membrane. Nickel participates in metabolic processes of nucleic acid and promotes absorption of iron in the body.

All our products contain sapropel.
