THREAT HUNTING: DETECTING THE HAVOC C2 FRAMEWORK ℹ️ The Havoc C2 framework is a flexible post-exploitation framework written in Golang, C++, and Qt. It is engineered to support red team engagements and adversary emulation and offers robust capabilities tailored for offensive security operations. ℹ️ Havoc was first released in October 2022 and is still under active development. It supports HTTP(S) and SMB as an implant communication protocol. ℹ️ Havoc’s ability to generate payloads, including exe binaries, dll files, and shellcode, appeals to threat actors seeking a malleable, simple, post-exploitation framework for their campaigns. ℹ️ Havoc is open-source, simple to use, and has little defensive-focused coverage, making it a popular option for adversaries.
