Did you know that the coastal wetlands in the Delaware Estuary are losing about one acre per day? It's estimated that by 2100, more than a quarter of the total wetlands could be lost due to sea level rise. But researchers at the University of Delaware are working on a project called DEEDS to install living shorelines made of natural materials like oysters and plants along the Delaware Bay, which could not only help stabilize the shoreline and reduce nutrient pollution but also address the declining oyster populations that have occurred over the last hundred years. #coastalresilience #environmentalprotection

Can you believe it? The EPA has been striking pollution from clean air tallies in over 70 counties, leaving more than 21 million Americans in the dark about the true health risks they are facing. This little-known rule called the "exceptional events rule" allows regulators to forgive pollution caused by natural or uncontrollable events, like wildfires. Not only does this put people's health at risk, but it also weakens the Clean Air Act and makes it harder to control local polluters. It's a serious problem, especially with the climate crisis looming over us. We need to hold our local regulators accountable and demand better protection for our air. #physicalsecurity #securityissues

Gone are the days when application deployment used to take a year or more. Today, thanks to low-code/no-code application development, the process is measured in mere weeks. This innovative method allows developers to create and modify applications with intuitive tools without extensive coding, thus fulfilling the need for fast application delivery and highly customized automation workflows. Along with providing users the control they need, low-code/no-code development also boosts developer productivity by streamlining various aspects of the development process. This approach is revolutionizing the face of application development and paving the way for a faster and more efficient future. #agiledevelopment #lowcodenocode

New research funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research suggests a possible link between air pollution and Parkinson's disease. Researchers from Barrow Neurological Institute found that living in regions with higher levels of air pollution results in a 56% higher risk of developing Parkinson’s disease when compared to those in regions with the lowest levels. The study confirms previous findings showing that fine particulate pollution causes inflammation in the brain, providing a potential mechanism for the development of Parkinson's. #airpollution #environmentalprotection

Did you know that chemical industries discharge 300-400 megatonnes of industrial waste into bodies of water each year? That's a staggering amount and is causing serious water pollution issues globally. But, here's some good news - a team of materials scientists is working on an "engineered living material" that can turn chemical dye pollutants from the textile industry into harmless substances. The material contains programmed bacteria embedded in a soft hydrogel material and has shown potential effectiveness in combating water pollution. Hopefully, this can be a valuable tool in solving this environmental and humanitarian issue that affects both ecosystems and human health. #waterpollution #environmentalprotection

AI and ML have dominated the technological landscape and it's no surprise that businesses have fully embraced these innovations. According to McKinsey, AI could automate up to 70% of business activities before 2030, which is a mind-boggling statistic. With such high levels of automation, AI and ML will not only optimize business efficiency but also free up time for professionals to focus on more strategic responsibilities. #agiledevelopment #artificialintelligence
