Stadler’s FLIRT H2 achieves Guinness World Records title Mission accomplished! Stadler has set the Guinness World Records title for the furthest distance achieved by a hydrogen-powered passenger train without refueling. Our FLIRT H2 is officially a World Record Holder, driving a total of 2,803 kilometers (1,741.7 miles) for over 46 hours on one fuel supply. Find out more about the world record achievement. The extension of the Metro B in Lyon, southern France, was recently inaugurated, with 2 new stops. This is a game changer for several municipalities, making them more accessible and attractive for workers, students and families. Around 50,000 passengers are expected on a daily basis at each stop. More over the metro line is now strongly connected to other mobilities, like bus, bike or car sharing. A #herrenknecht Variable Density TBM, with a 9.6m diameter, was used to bore the new 2.2km tunnel. Bringing in maximum safety in extremely complex subterranean soft ground, this technology offers impressive options for inner-city tunnelling. New Stadler FLIRT Akku now also in operation between Kiel, Lübeck and Lüneburg   As a pioneer in alternative drive technologies Stadler is proud to supply the vehicles for the world's first battery-electric train fleet in regular service. Stadler’s innovative and comfortable FLIRT Akku multiple units will replace diesel trains on non-electrified lines in Schleswig-Holstein in the North of Germany, and thus save around 10 million liters of diesel and 26,000 tons of CO2 per year. This important milestone was celebrated today with many guests on a train ride between Kiel and Lübeck, the two largest cities of the region Schleswig-Holstein.   Watch the video to learn more about the benefits of Stadler’s FLIRT Akku trains.

Next stop: USA   With the FLIRT H2 for the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, Stadler is delivering the first hydrogen-powered train for American passenger transport. After the successful completion of the test runs in Switzerland, the FLIRT H2 is now on its way to the USA, where it will continue its extensive test runs.   Follow the journey of the FLIRT H2 in the video.
