🔵 Serratus Anterior Release 🌀 The serratus anterior is a muscle of the anterior chest wall. 👉 Attachments: The muscle consists of several segments, which originate from the lateral aspects of ribs 1-8. They attach to the costal surface of the medial border of the scapula. 🔌 Function: Rotation of the scapula, allowing the arm to be raised over 90 degrees. It also holds the scapula against the ribs. ✅ Tightness and tension in this area can cause discomfort when breathing and pain, when raising and lowering the arms. And it goes even further...The pelvic floor actively affects respiration. \ Let's dive in a little deeper, shall we? The thoracic diaphragm is the primary muscle for breathing and it actually moves symbiotically with the pelvic diaphragm. When you speak all of these muscles are actually working together to help!
