I'm thrilled to share that following my latest experiment in 3D printing with clay I managed to exhibit it at Ziegeleimuseum Lage. The event was a tremendous success, and I had the pleasure of engaging in many insightful conversations with visitors. One of the highlights of the exhibition was getting featured alongside my dear friend Lando Schumpich in the local newspaper, which was an exciting recognition of our experiments in the field of 3D printing with clay. It's incredibly rewarding to see how this experiment has opened up new avenues for artistic expression and scientific inquiry, and I'm excited to continue exploring this topic in my future projects. I'm grateful for Lando Schumpich and all his computational knowledge, Gokalp Yigit Denktas and Prof. Markus Schein for the endless support. Thanks for being a part of this fruitful journey!

EVERYONE IS AN ARCHITECT! As part of our workshops at the "Physicality" exhibition in Detmold Design Week 2023, we were excited to offer a building experience that combines cutting-edge technology with our three specially designed bricks, an experience floating between virtual and physical worlds. We Imagine a world where complexity in fabrication becomes easier to manage with your eyes, guiding you with precision and simplicity. That's exactly what we achieved by integrating HoloLenses and Fologram into our reversed building game experience. Together with Lando Schumpich, we managed to give our participants the opportunity to sculpt their own shape from control points, then the algorithm utilizes wave function collapse to recreate any desired shape using our three specially designed bricks. This remarkable combination allows participants to visualize the assembly steps, making the process intuitive and seamless. Whether you are a professional builder or a curious enthusiast, the HoloLens and Fologram experience offers a whole new level of precision, accuracy, and creativity. The holographic instructions guide you through each step, ensuring flawless assembly while fostering a sense of awe and wonder.

EVERYONE IS AN ARCHITECT! Following our last exhibition, I want to highlight my project with Lando Schumpich "The Building Game". The Building Game focuses on making sustainable building practices accessible and engaging for everyone. We developed three-dimensional semi-interlocking bricks made out of Adobe material, transforming the construction process into a puzzle-like experience. In addition to the hands-on aspect of the brick system, we took it a step further by offering visitors the opportunity to be guided through the building process by an algorithm. Using augmented reality (AR) technology on their smartphones or using our HoloLenses, participants could interact, build, gamify, and visualize the entire construction process in a captivating digital space. The rules are easy: - The algorithm tracks your head while moving and suggests the next place for your block. - While enjoying the spatial experience in a Mixed Reality Environment, you can simply place blocks with only one click. - Parameters window includes all the designed bricks and possible rotations for it. - You can cheat and freely move the blocks. We are driven by enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility to bring positive change to the industry. Through our projects, we strive to inspire others, foster innovation, and challenge conventional norms. We were amazed by the results and we're extremely grateful to Nick van den Berg and Fologram team for all the help and support they gave to us. Together, let's change the way we build, design, and create, embracing sustainable practices and cutting-edge technologies. The future of construction is in our hands, and we are excited to be at the forefront of this transformative journey. #design #innovation #technology #augmentedreality

I am thrilled to share that I recently had the incredible opportunity to curate and organize an exhibition at the Lippisches Landesmuseum Detmold, exploring the concept of "Physicality." This exhibition aimed to showcase the remarkable capabilities of computational power and our ability to bridge the gap between the virtual and physical worlds. Together as a collective; the Digital Methods Collective (dmC), an international group of 7 students from University of Applied Sciences and Arts sharing the same passion for computational design and building the future, we embarked on a captivating journey for Detmold Design Week 2023. Our goal was to curate a selection of our student works, focusing on the intersection of digital design, physicality, and sustainability. We were driven by the vision of pushing design boundaries to new horizons while making sustainability the central priority. Our program during the week offered 6 workshops that emphasized the principles of co-designing, co-building, and co-exhibiting as integral parts of the exhibition experience. By providing hands-on participation opportunities, we aimed to encourage visitors to actively engage with the topics we explored, raising their awareness of the future of architecture and design, and finally integrating them into the loop as key players. Through these interactive sessions, we fostered a sense of shared creativity and responsibility, creating a dynamic environment where visitors could immerse themselves in the world of digital design and sustainability. The "Physicality" exhibition during Detmold Design Week was an extraordinary success for us, made possible by the collaborative efforts of the DDW team, dmC, and the Landesmuseum. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Landesmuseum Detmold for providing us the platform to showcase our vision, Nick van den Berg and Fologram team for the tremendous support and belief in our vision, Prof. Michel Melenhorst, Prof. Hans Sachs, Prof. Andrea Kondziela, Prof. Markus Schein, and Maximilian Müh for the huge continuous support. Last but not least, we express our deep appreciation to everyone who joined us and we're looking forward to seeing you all soon. dmC Team: Andrei Stan, Alla Vinogradova, ARAM BADR, Lando Schumpich, Luis Alfonso Gutierrez Suarez, Gokalp Yigit Denktas, Mohamed Khaled Photo Credits: Christopher Wellsow

I'm excited to announce the successful completion of my latest experiment to push the boundaries of printable shapes with clay. Using a non-planar slicing technique programmed in Grasshopper, I was able to manipulate material extrusion and travel speed for each point on the toolpath, optimizing both time and material usage. From a technical perspective, the proposed G-code generator solved many of the challenges associated with non-planar 3D printing. By providing full control over the non-planar toolpath, flow rate, extrusion, and velocity, everyone is now able to create intricate, non-planar shapes that are both aesthetically stunning and technically precise. The experiment opens up new avenues for artistic expression and scientific inquiry, and I'm excited to continue exploring the topic. #3Dprinting #nonplanarslicing #Grasshopper #technology #innovation

I'm deeply proud to be part of Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe's design team, super excited to do my best helping my team and see our final result.
We are excited to share our latest project with you. We have been selected to build the prototype of the MonoCab! The MonoCab is a self-propelled cabin on the rails of the historic single-track railway line between Lemgo and Extertal in East Westphalia, Germany. There will be many of them traveling in both directions on one track - at the same time! Because MonoCab drives stereo thanks to gyroscope technology: as a gyro-stabilized monorail. This is not a new concept but a technology that dates back to 1907. The MonoCabs can drive in constant circulation like a paternoster - and like taxis can be ordered for individual trips to the village or town. Simply via the app, around the clock, 365 days a year. Individual, automated, on-demand, but in abundance. So that people in rural areas become more mobile and independent. This idea has now been given a boost. In a network of many partners who develop solutions for the technical challenges: MonoCab OWL! Onboard are the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe, the Fachhochschule Bielefeld , Landeseisenbahn Lippe E.V., the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft Lemgo, and the Lippe district.
