textile trendshow #bemerkenswert 2.0

For the second time I was commissioned to create and to realize a concept for a textile trendshow for Münchner Stoff Frühling. The 4 days exhibition for professionals only has become the most important event to showcast new products and to meet clients for the German speaking markets in the premium level of interior decoration. 31 exhibitors were presenting new products in the field of interior textiles, wallcoverings, rugs, home accessoiries and also paint. Among the exhibitors you will find all internationally renowed names of the industry, so the event is top-class and very much focussed.

I love all my jobs and clients, but honestly speaking this job is one of my most fantastic engagements! To work with all these extraordinary brands and collections, to see every collection very early and to create something new in bringing it all together is a unique opportunity. I was working almost half a year from the first sketch and ideas to the final installation in the middel of March in Munich.

This years event took place in a well known Munich location called Praterinsel, located in the centre of Munich, on a small island in river Isar. The trendshow was set up in the former orangery with fantastic daylight and huge windows facing a beautiful courtyard. We were lucky with beautiful sunshine and spring weather.

The title of the exhibition was choasen as #bemerkenswert 2.0, meaning remarkable in Englisch. Actually very simple, as alle shown product is simply remarkable. The concept was featuring several trend themes as Greenery 2.0, Touch, Rare, Super Natural, Iconic Sofa, @work, All about colors and All about accessories. Each themes was displayed in a seperate installation, referring to the special aspects of the topic.

A central installation was the custom made multicolored sofa BOB by swedisch manufacturer Bla Station, featuring 16 different fabrics of textile editors. The sofa was placed on custom rug by RUGX in my design by manucaturer Object Carpet. Apart from the obviously bold and impressive effect, the installation was pointing out the importance of upholstery fabrics, color and customization.

Another installation was a selection of new wallpapers installed on 4 totems. These were placed on a collage of hand made rugs. An object of 359 fabric paper tubes showing floral patterns and green fabrics was another highlight of the exhibtion.

Guided tours for the visitors, some especially for interior designers are a special feature and it was my pleasure to give 4 lectures every day, explaning my ideas and answering questions on the trend themes or the installation in general.
