Prince Naseem Hamed's son Aadam needed just two minutes to win his first-ever fight as he began his ambitious attempt to follow in his father's famous footsteps.

Hamed took on the unknown Vojtech Hrdy, who had won one of his previous three fights, and his opponent looked as if it were he, not Hamed, who had walked to the ring for the first time.

The 23-year-old, the youngest son of the former featherweight world champion, announced his intention to turn professional three years ago despite never fighting as an amateur. And he made his paid debut as the co-main event on the undercard on Daniel Dubois' challenge for Oleksandr Usyk's heavyweight world titles.

Hamed strutted confidently to the ring in front of 40,000 fans in Poland wearing a shimmering black outfit but there were few of the theatrics his dad became known for. He threatened to summersault into the ring but pulled out at the last second and simply climbed over the ropes.

Hamed was introduced as "Prince" and fought as a southpaw from the opening bell, showboating almost immediately as he looked to establish his jab. And he soon cornered Hrdy who had no interest in responding and the towel came in from the corner to bring an end to the farcical fight.

"That was my first fight ever, not just my pro debut and it was a blessing to be here in front of everyone," Hamed said. "What a night; I felt like i put on a performance and it's going to get bigger and better from here. I like to hurt people, I'm not in there to tip and tap, I want to get people out of there.

"They are always going to say what they want, I just need to do my best to take no notice and do me. This is just a stepping stone to where i want to get to. I'm very passionate about this game, I don't look at it as a hobby. I'm not here to take part, I'm here to take over. I want to be as active as possible and hopefully get one or two more fights in this year."
