Rear Admiral Peter Muschinske

Rear Adm. Peter Muschinske is a Wisconsin native and son of a World War II veteran.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1986; a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in 1992 and a certificate of Advanced Theological Studies in 2012 from Eden Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MO.  He was commissioned in 1990 as a Chaplain Candidate Program Officer and superseded to the Chaplain Corps in 1993.  While a Reserve Chaplain, he has served Christian faith communities in various capacities, interspersed with eight years of extended mobilization or recall to Active Duty throughout his career.     

His reserve assignments include Marine Expeditionary Force Religious Unit (MEFREL) 713 (3d FSSG); MEFREL 119; 5th Battalion/14th Marines; Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 25; Officer in Charge, MEFREL 116; supervisory chaplain, US Pacific Fleet; staff chaplain, North American Aerospace Defense Command and US Northern Command; deputy fleet chaplain, U.S. Third Fleet; deputy fleet chaplain, U.S. Pacific Fleet; deputy region chaplain, Navy Region Hawaii (and Regional Operations Center).    

His mobilizations include command chaplain, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 25, deployed to Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom), and Deputy Force Chaplain for Marine Forces Reserve.  He was the initial Reserve Chaplain appointed as a Chaplain Programs Officer for Recruiting (definite recall from 2007-2012). 

Rear Adm. Muschinske’s awards include Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (4), Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Humanitarian Service Medal and various unit and campaign awards.
