Faust needs to take a self-care day {Guilty Gear}

I got this done last night, but I immediately had to crash to bed afterwards ahsgas I have no clue what to name this.

More Faust, another thing based off of his Strive design. Complicated-ey designs aren't my strong suit. He may technically be less depressed in Strive than compared to his previous appearances, but he still looks like a walking corpse and sleep paralysis demon, which his old acquaintance Testament (who I represented with the angry top hat) 100% would not abide by lmao. He needs a nap, a baker's dozen of doughnuts, and clothing that fits better and doesn't make him the butt of "children's hospital/color theory" jokes. Also, more belts. Two belts on his waist, belts on the sheath holder, belts on his gloves...

I gave him a sheath for Margarita (his scalpel) because I A) Wanted more gold/yellow to balance with the green and B) Felt it'd be weird for him to be waving around his big scalpel without protection, particularly outside of combat. He still holds the scalpel in his mouth and skitters on all-fours when he's in a fight, though. Old habits.

Design notes/Other notes/etc. :

- I gave him a bluish-green main color as a mid-point between Strive and Dr. Baldhead. In all of his non-Strive designs, he's had green on his design somewhere (ML: Primary color. X: Pants. XX: Pants. Xrd: Pants). His "thing" is that he went back to "Square One" and is mentally overlapping a lot with Dr. Baldhead, so I decided to bring back being primarily green with a bit of a blue tint because he does not want to go full serial-killer again. I also removed the red splotches because he's just asking to have the Tumblr "children's hospital/color theory" joke used on him lmao.

- His glove cuffs are longer overall and he can adjust the glove tightness with the belts.

- He has his shirt tucked-in, though it is still rather loose/baggy on him.

- The pack he wears on his belt is much bigger on the inside (...and occasionally spits out straw).

- He got the sheath from ties with the Kiske family. The inside of it has "Margarita" engraved in it near the opening (the name given to the scalpel in pre-release articles for the original GG).

- His voice is less gravelly, but is still rather deep compared to pre-Strive.

- He still has trouble summoning flowers, and he decided to give his sheath floral motifs because he still likes plants. The texture on the very end is based off of sunflowers.

- For the pack on one of his belts, the pin is based off the design present on the front of his coat in Xrd. The handle is a bright red-orange to make it easy for him to see.

- He often hangs out with Testament and they like talking about their hobbies/history together.

- His sense of humor leans less towards being crass (i.e. Kancho attack) or lolzXDsorandum, and more towards black comedy/doctor humor/gallows humor. That'd basically be the only reason for his Mini-Fausts to still have nooses around their necks lmao. There's a certain flair to laugh at death. I've met a few doctors and they all have some flavor of black comedy/morbid humor and thought it would fit the funny sleep paralysis demon.

I hope you like it!

:0 this is probably my favourite piece from you so far. Really great concepts and read. I love both versions of Faust in the cannon, and this design really is a great mix of Faust’s concepts throughout the years.

I’ve really been wondering what’s happened to Faust since his appearance in strive, we have some hints in “Another Story” but not much

Really good use of the colours on his outfit here, he looks like a great cross between both a doctor and a patient, which is what he essentially is at this point in time.

Also good touch with him getting help from Ky and Testament ^_^ I can easily see them and many other characters potentially helping Faust out in the cannon game and I’m crossing my fingers that happens.

I hope we get an in game explanation for him some day, would love to see this concept done in the cannon

Great work as always ^_^ keep going with the great art and concepts!!

Cheers ^0^

Thank you kindly! 8D 👍‍

People are still confused by Another Story lmao. We've got "Square One" and him spaghettifying himself from magical strain, but still not sure about what else.

My mind associates Faust with the color green a lot, and ever since looking at his old designs that had green and his Strive design lacking any green, my brain was like "HIM. GREEN. NOW." ashda. Faust needs therapy and a hug.

Thank you for noticing me putting Ky and Testament in there! If I recall correctly, Faust assisted with Sin, and Ky is overall just a cool dude. Then there's Testament, who is the one that freed him (as serial killer Dr. Baldhead) and gave him his long scalpel all the way back in Missing Link, and they hadn't seen each other since XX until Strive where Testament now loves themself and life instead of being an enraged misanthrope. Strive Testament would most likely not let Faust's physical self-neglect stand.

Yeah, we need some clearer explanation, people are still confused/arguing about what exactly happened to him (Is he literally dead and now a walking corpse? Did he just give something up instead of sacrificing himself entirely? He's got red eyes now even though he's said to not be a Gear...) lmao.

Once again, thanks! 8}

Cheers! 🥂
