About this image

"This feels so wrong", she thought, after wiping out the Railroad.
Her rifle fell to the ground, and even her Sirius suit seemed to loose it's supporting power for a moment, as her legs began to shake, and she had to sit down between all the dead bodies.
"As if there was a cruel and ruthless mind behind the curtains  .. leaving me no choice but kill all those good people."
And suddenly somehow there was some kinda voice deep in her mind, telling her the name of that entity that had forced her into this ..

Bethesda.

In FNV, you don't have to wipe out every tribe and faction -- just the Legion or the NCR. Ditto in Skyrim. No need to kill all the Blades. So wth is going on here? None of the factions are perfect. That doesn't mean they have to be eliminated.

    Beautiful face btw.

      Yup.
      Big fail in game dynamics.
It's an open-end game, but 75% of the main factions are dead after the main quest?! What kinda crap is that?
I'm thinking about wiping out most raider factions in Nuka world by my own will. Evil bastards they are.
But i'm unable leaving most of the good guys alive?!

I'm hoping for some genius to make a fix for that.

It's possible, though difficult and buggy, to complete the game with a Minutemen ending that leaves the Brotherhood and Railroad alive. Though if you pull it off Desdemona never stops begging you to ditch the Minutemen and help her and Elder Maxon will never speak to you again. Literally, if you try to speak to him you get nothing. Which is maybe a good thing?

    Servus!

      Ist übrigens cbbe -based.

      @humannature66:

      @gucky2010:

The worst part, for me, is looking at it purely by who you have to kill. If you ignore the moral questions of what the Institute, Railroad, and Brotherhood stand for and only look at your potential victims the Railroad is the easiest one to eliminate for one reason: no kids. There are children in the Institute and aboard the Prydwyn, but none in Old North Church.

Doesn't that just suck? The faction with the best moral compass is the only one to destroy that doesn't make you a childkiller.

I felt the same... BUT, I take solice in, with regards to the Institute, I issue an evacuation order.
If they are good parents, they would take their kids and GTFO of there.
Mind you... the not knowing if they did or didn't escape now that you point it out.... makes me think this time around... I'll recruit those kids outta there as well... kids need fresh air anyway to grow in

Re: the Prydwen... I use Diverse children and EFF... so I recruit them and take them outta there myself... assign them as farmers to Sanctuary in fact

Re: Moral Compass.... I disagree myself. They are misguided at the least... self righteous morons at worst.
Even Deacon says that he wished they would help regular normal real humans once in awhile.
To me, no machine ever takes precedence over humanity....ever. Help if you can, but don't turn your back on your kin
Mind you... I still wouldn't hurt them...after all, I only consider them misguided... not evil.

PS: Ain't it great what humannature evoked here... discussion.... on moral questions nonetheless

I didn't say they had a great moral compass, just the best of the factions you have to choose from (I don't count the Minutemen in this assessment as they are essentially neutral. No matter which faction you choose everyone basically ignores the Minutemen until you're actively fighting them). Your choices are:
The Institute: Surface-dwellers are doomed, no one counts but us.
The Brotherhood: Humanity must be protected from itself, so we keep all the best toys any kill anything not pureblood human.
The Railroad: Synths must be saved at all cost.

While I agree with Deacon that it'd be great PR-wise to help regular folks too, the Railroad has limited manpower and regular folks are getting a lot of help from themselves, each other, the Minutemen, and the larger settlements such as Diamond City and Bunker Hill. When it comes to prioritizing the use of their limited resources, synths-only makes sense.

Gotcha on the moral aspect, my mistake..... and I do agree with you... not much of a choice really.... but I blame the writing for that TBH.

      The RR annoy me though.
Being in the shadows is why they lack resources. You cannot grow in darkness a poet once said.
If the RR did "reach out" and work with others,... they could not only positively affect others, but also reap the benefits for themselves and the synths because of such interactions. Like the MM, they would grow themselves because of it.
As you spoke about, all the others are helping each other and thriving as a result of it.
Good advice for anyone... anywhere... I think.... but the RR missed that memo unfortunately.

Interaction would also positively influence how the synths are viewed and treated as well because they would cease being the boogyman in the closet.
And eventually, like Nick, be understood, trusted and a part of society.
I can't help but also think of that synth leader as well in Far Harbor speaking about why it was so wrong to wipe their minds.... all true.

Anyway....lol. The bottle of wine has worn off now and time for bed
I do enjoy these kinds of discussions though.... it's like talking with mates about a good book you read and sharing views on it's content.

    Awesome humannature66... endorsed.

    I couldn't do it myself.
Father & the Institute are the bad guys... no other way around it.
The lies about mans best option... ya..sure.
Kidnapping, replacing and then experimenting on & then terminating the humans from above was the nail for me.... no matter the reason.... that is just soooo wrong on sooo many levels.
Even the scientist Virgil had enough... and left them to live in a nuclear waste zone... hmmm, morals kicked in for him at least.
Every terminal I read along the way made me get more upset with "my son", what he stood for, and what he was defending & how he went about it.
ONLY because it would have put some holes in the outcome I wanted (Bunker Hill, saving Danse)... I would have put a bullet in his head the first time I saw him...lol

LOL, after reading the names of the informants... I quickly opened XEdit, removed essential status and executed them... one by one.

Hard choice to make no matter what one you make, if it be siding or against the RR, or even to wipe out all father has worked for .. or to go against the BOS, I feel her pain in the way her shoulders sag, in the look in her eyes but sometimes we must do what we hate ....... may in time , this choice not haunt her !!
