“Who are you stranger, and how did you manage to break into the Citadel?!”

The fiend bowed in a ridiculing fashion. “Have I not already introduced myself?” Demiurge had a humanoid appearance, evidently, he chose the right disguise. They did not attack yet. Good, he can use this, he mused. He wore a dark cloak that covered most of his body, and a golden mask that concealed his face. He carried a staff and a book in another hand.

“I will ask you one more time.” Chronos spoke as he appeared right in front of Demiurge, for the relief of the gods. A small circle was already cleared of the crowd, and the free space only continued to expand around the duo.

“Sol, stay where you are.” Uranus warned his son, and he also joined Chronos.

“Okay. Okay. Fine.” Demiurge spoke, using his hands in a placating manner, the staff and book he previously held merely disappeared into thin air. “I am Demiurge, Creator of the Multiverse and I have come…” He stopped for a dramatic pose, “to deliver a warning!”

He could hear his mistress’ laugh at the back of his mind, clearly his performance amused the mistress, still, his eyes judged the two towering before him.

Chronos, and Uranus… interesting, he mused.

“What kind of nonsense is that? Unmask yourself and tell us your true name!”

“I’m afraid that’s not possible. And my true name is Demiurge, Creator of the Multiverse.”

Chronos was getting annoyed, but Uranus merely spoke on an even voice. “If so, then how come we’ve never heard of you, Demiurge, was it?”

“Well, you see I was busy, and you… well you can hardly go to places where I’ve been.”

“Hah.” That elicited a dry laugh from Uranus, “I am the God of Space and Chaos, there is no place in All-Creation that can escape my notice.”

Demiurge put a finger on his temple, “and what of the Beyond?”

“The beyond?” Uranus asked flabbergasted, Chronos meanwhile fought his urge to call this fiend a liar and have him shut up, but it was not his place to interfere with Uranus.

“Yes! The Beyond! You know. The place that exists outside of Creation!”

“You make no sense, demon! There is nothing beyond the Light!”

“Of course, there is!” Demiurge beamed, “this Light, this Creation is only an infinitely small part of the greater whole. A small playground, I’ve created for my amusement hahaha–”

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Careful now.”

“You claim to be the Creator of the Multiverse, right?”

“Yes! Yes! So, you finally believe me, huh?”

“If that is true, you wouldn’t mind a spar with us, would you? After all, you must be incredibly powerful.” Chronos smirked, ‘well played father’. He will have no choice now, but to reveal his cards. Chronos thought. “Allow me to test him, Father.”

Uranus nodded and turned towards Demiurge. “What will it be, ‘Creator of the Multiverse’? If you are indeed as great as you claim to be, defeating my older son shouldn’t be a problem for you.”

When Demiurge asked to spar with Lord Uranus himself, the hall became loud in disbelief. Fighting against Chronos, Lord of Time would be an impossible challenge. But to fight his father, it was a meaningless suicide attempt. What did Demiurge hope to accomplish? The gods could only wonder, while a sparring ground was set up in the middle of the great hall.

Demiurge, the Creator of the Multiverse versus Uranus, the Father of Worlds.

The gods took their place on the arena and stood witness to a battle between the apexes.

“Are you ready?”

“Yes, please come at me, oh God of Space and Chaos.”

The battle began.

The arena was silent when Uranus tapped his Staff of Space, and the dimensions shifted. Demiurge was quick to react, and breath Hell Fire towards his opponent. They never reached Uranus; the attack was lost to space. “I never thought a conventional attack would reach you, nevertheless I applaud your control of space.” His grin widened behind his golden mask, “then let us battle over space, let us see who has more control, oh God of Space!”

First the crowd did not understand what the fiend meant, but soon their mouths curved in shock. Impossible! They echoed as one, the dimensions shifted once more, and Uranus attacked, however, cracks appeared on the dimensional plates, and they shattered on contact with his robe. Demiurge just shrugged off an attack from Uranus, God of Worlds.

“What have you done?” Uranus asked in a deep voice, and Demiurge as if to mock the God, clapped and applauded his effort. The ridiculous display made Uranus shudder. He thought himself above of such pitiful emotions as anger and shame, and yet he felt something inside, something churning deep inside that threatened to erupt. “Very well then, brace yourself.”

Uranus tapped his staff once again, and distance lost its meaning.

The sound of shattering glass could be heard in the arena, as layers upon layers of dimensions got shattered one after another, and new and new rifts opened and closed in space.

And yet, Demiurge continued to weather the onslaught. He continued to stand as an equal versus a Supreme God. Absurd. There should be nothing out there that can challenge a Supreme God, and yet after the beast, they’ve found someone else who did just that before their very eyes. The gods were lost for words, as they witnessed history in the making.

Eventually, the battle ended. Neither side worse for wear, Uranus broke the silence.

“I acknowledge your strength, stranger, but I do not acknowledge you as the Creator. I will hear you out, however, if you make any threatening moves do not think you can escape us.” Uranus summoned his phoenix, while he headed towards his tower. “You mentioned something about a warning… let us converse. This way–”

“Your words are harsh, but I will accept your stance for now. You were a mighty opponent Uranus; I would not wish to fight you for real.” Demiurge followed the God of Space and Chaos, under the watchful gaze of the gods.

Demiurge did not lie when he said Uranus was mighty, but he would never fight on his own to begin with. He had his creations for that purpose, Demion. A species of cosmic entities bred for war. They would sooner or later have their use, for now they await his command, hidden on abandoned worlds.
