2022 GLT Day Photo Challenge

Congratulations to our GLT Day 2022 Winners!

Save the Golden Lion Tamarin is excited to announce the winners of the 2022 GLT Day Photo Challenge. This year we honored the important role zoos and aquariums have in GLT conservation by inviting participants to submit a zoo-based photo of this beautiful endangered Brazilian monkey. Each participant submitted one photo. Submissions were considered under three separate photographer categories: nonprofessional; professional; and zoo or aquarium staff.

The photo challenge had participation from 92 individuals from 13 different counties. The winners will have a tree planted in their name in the Golden Lion Tamarin habitat near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The planting of trees help support the connection of isolated tracts of forest where golden lion tamarins live in the wild.

GLT Day on Aug. 2 is an international celebration of conservation of this tiny but mighty primate. Please join us in congratulating the winners of the 2022 GLT Day Photo Challenge!
