Tesla has given the go-ahead and started to bring the eagerly awaited Cybertrucks to showrooms in the USA - even before official delivery to the first customers begins at the end of the month.
Since the unveiling of the futuristic pickup, interested parties and customers have been eagerly waiting to finally find out all the production specifications and prices. On November 30, when the first deliveries begin, the time has come. Although this information is still being kept under wraps, Tesla is surprising the public with the presentation of Cybertrucks in selected showrooms in the USA. Further specifications have now emerged on a display stand, where Tesla is once again specifically boasting a robust and rustproof steel exterior, shatterproof glass, an adaptive air suspension, an SMC (Sheet Moulded Composite) cargo bed, a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds (approx. 5 tons) and a payload of 2,500 pounds (approx. 1.1 tons), making it "The world's toughest truck".
First, a Cybertruck was delivered to the Tesla showroom in the Westfield UTC Mall in La Jolla, San Diego. The delivery took place on November 19, 2023, but another Cybertruck could be admired not only in San Diego, but also at the Tesla branch in San Jose. In addition, other models were spotted on various trucks traveling from the Gigafactory in Texas to various locations in the USA - presumably to supply other showrooms.
At first glance, it may seem unusual for Tesla to place its Cybertrucks in showrooms without official specifications and prices. However, it could be a clever strategy to generate interest, increase the number of visitors to the showrooms and thus boost sales. This has already worked with other models such as the popular Model 3but also the Model Y has worked. Given this success, Tesla could try to capitalize on the same momentum before the official launch at the end of the month.
