The robin is one of the most popular birds, at least here in Germany. It delights us with its appearance and its trusting nature. With its orange-red breast you can easily recognize this bird and it is therefore particularly suitable as a model for portraits. This picture is a classically executed oil painting on a green-grey background, which was executed using a glaze technique.

Hilke-Ev Krögler is an artist based in Germany whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level. Identifying as a "color and material researcher", execution and technique play a vital role in her artistic process. Krögler's compositions are particularily focused on reflections and contrasts, through which she creates "moods and mood spaces". She combines old painting and gilding techniques with new experimental methods, favoring acrylics, tempera, and oils on wood.
