There are lots of subscription boxes out there, but this has to be one of the best ones we've seen yet: Muslim Girl — the leading online magazine for Muslim women created by the inimitable Amani al-Khatahtbeh — is launching its first official subscription box this week, the #MuslimGirlArmy Care Package.

"The aim is to provide the most carefully curated products that are reflective Muslim women’s needs in today’s world," the announcement reads. "It features a mixed variety of items from your favorite name brands to Muslim small businesses that you might not have heard of yet, but totally should. Consider this your monthly reminder to center yourself, care for yourself, and treat yo’self."

The first box will be called the "Post-Election Care Package," and is sponsored by Dubai-based streetwear company Miella Fashion. It will include Muslim Girl's Crisis Safety Manual for Muslim Women, a handwritten letter from Muslim Girl's Baddie of the Month Hasnaa Mokhtar, a canister of pepper spray (seriously), a scarf that can be worn as a hijab, cosmetics from halal brand Tuesday in Love, and more. The first 25 people to subscribe will receive a copy of Amani's best-selling book, Muslim Girl: A Coming of Age, which The New York Times calls "timely and enlightening" in its Editors' Pick review.

After the election, certain groups have been particularly targeted by president-elect Donald Trump and/or his supporters — and Muslims are unfortunately one of them. Practicing self-care at this time is so important, and we think this subscription box is an excellent way to do that. You can learn more about the subscription box here, and subscribe on Friday.
