Kirk Herbstreit leaves Thursday Night Football viewers worried with ‘rough’ voice on live TV during Saints-Rams

The 54-year-old is a star analyst for ESPN's College GameDay

THURSDAY Night Football announcer Kirk Herbstreit had fans concerned during the New Orleans Saints-Los Angeles Rams game.

The Amazon Prime color commentator's voice appeared to be hoarse in the primetime Week 16 game.

Herbstreit was alongside his usual play-by-play partner Al Michaels for the NFL game.

However, in the first quarter, Herbstreit's voice was scratchy when commentating.

The 54-year-old's voice struggled at times during the broadcast.

And during one sequence, Herbstreit's weak voice was even more apparent when he said: "Nobody in the NFL throws that outcut the way Matthew Stafford does."

Fans spotted Herbstreit's weak voice and gave their thoughts on X, formerly Twitter.

One wrote: "Hurting my ears."

Another commented: "@KirkHerbstreit take the day off man. Holy s***. You sound ROUGH."

While a third added: "Someone get @KirkHerbstreit some earl grey."

The Rams led the Saints 17-7 at halftime.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for two touchdowns and 199 yards.

As for Herbstreit, it's not confirmed if he entered the broadcast sick or unwell.

Herbstreit has been a broadcaster for Amazon Prime's Thursday Night Football since 2022.

He's an analyst for ESPN's College GameDay.

The 54-year-old is also a color commentator for college football.
