The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance at the University of Luxembourg and its 3 departments are committed to providing students with a high-quality learning experience in accordance with the Luxembourg qualifications framework and the qualifications framework in the European Higher Education Area.

Reinforcing this commitment, the Faculty undergoes independent, external quality assurance on a cyclical basis.

Under the leadership of Prof. Anke Müßig, Professor of Accounting and Audit and Member of the University Council and Uni.lu’s Board of Governors, the team of study programme directors and administrators submitted the self-assessment report to FIBAA in May 2020.

In 2015, FDEF sought and obtained the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) accreditation for five Master Programmes offered through the Department of Finance and the Department of Economics and Management: Master in Accounting and Audit, Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Master in Wealth Management, Master in Economics and Finance, Master of Science in Banking and Finance. The programmes were initially accredited in 2015, and the FIBAA Quality Seal was awarded until the end of the winter semester 2020/21.

In 2019, the FDEF obtained FIBAA accreditation for its six Masters in Law based on the common M1 offered by the Department of Law: Master in European and International Tax Law LL.M., Master in European Banking and Financial Law LL.M., Master in European Business Law LL.M., Master in European Economic and Financial Criminal Law LL.M., Master in European Union Law and Litigation LLM and Master in Space, Communication and Media Law LL.M.. The FIBAA quality seal was awarded from 22 November 2019 to end of the winter semester 2024/25.

The current re-accreditation of 3 Master programmes in the Department of Finance and the Department of Economics and Management, Master in Accounting and Audit, Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Master in Wealth Management, and the initial accreditation process of 2 newer Master programmes, Master of Science in Finance and Economics, Master of Science in Quantitative Economics and Finance is a natural and logical next step and a way to publicly guarantee the continued quality of the Master Programmes.

We are happy to welcome FIBAA for the “remote” site visit on 8 & 9 July 2020.
