During World War II the Zentralverlag der NSDAP or Central Publishing House of the Nazi Party, published a series of Kleine Kriegsheften or Small War Booklets on many different military and political subjects, and they were always written for consumption by the common Landser or soldier.

Offered for sale on this USMBOOKS web page is an excellent booklet from the series published in 1940 called Siegeszug durch Frankreich (Victorious March through France). This 6 x 8-1/4 inch Kleine Kriegshefte number 5/6 contains 48 heavily illustrated pages telling the interesting story of the invasion of France and the quick defeat of the French by the superior Wehrmacht forces.

Siegeszug durch Frankreich starts with excerpts from speeches Hitler made after the very brief war and the defeat of the French military in June 1940 ("After defeating what was considered the strongest army of the world, only one enemy remains: England!"). Chapters cover Hitler as a Military Leader, the Battle of Annihilation in France, the World War II Battle of the Somme, fighting Negroes from Senegal in service with the French Army, no repeat of the French 'Miracle of the Marne' during World War II, the Maginot Line, Verdun, Paris in German Hands, and the Armistice in Compiègne.

The back cover has a map of France, Belgium, Holland and southern England.

This nearly 80 year old example of Siegeszug durch Frankreich is in very good, little-used- condition. No odor.

Photos show Nazi Field Marshals and Generals like Goering, Keitel, von Rundstedt, Von Brauchitsch, List, Von Kluge and others, German soldiers marching and fighting, battle damage, tanks on the attack, pockmarked bunkers of the Maginot Line, Luftwaffe aircraft, huge caliber mortars, POWs, Wehrmacht soldiers writing Feldpost, a FLAK gun under the Eiffel Tower, the armistice in the train car at Compiègne, and even Wehrmacht soldiers visiting Versailles!
