Singer-composer-producer John Legend broke some exciting personal news at a private concert on Friday. He shared that earlier that day he and his wife, model and public figure Chrissy Teigen, welcomed their third child into their family. This comes a little over two years after the couple suffered a pregnancy loss. 

"What a blessed day," Legend said, according to a report in PEOPLE. He added that he wasn’t getting a lot of sleep, but he “feels energized” after spending time at the hospital.

The newborn joins an older sister, six-year-old Luna, and brother, four-year-old Miles. 

Teigen first met the future EGOT-winner on the set for his video “Stereo” in 2007, in which the two danced with a notable degree of intimacy. As the story goes, the two later retreated to Legend’s hotel room to dine on In-N-Out burgers and “chill.” 

They dated for four years before Legend popped the question on a Christmas vacation in the Maldives—a surprise that was almost ruined when airport security wanted to look through Legend’s carry-on bag. They were wed in 2013, with a legal ceremony in New York City and a big to-do in Lake Como.

Last summer, Teigen announced via Instagram that she was pregnant for the fourth time, after the use of egg retrieval and IVF. “The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” she wrote. “1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way.” 

She added that the previous pregnancy loss had left her extremely anxious about making an announcement—which was at odds with her typical filter-free demeanor. “Every appointment I've said to myself, 'ok if it's healthy today I'll announce' but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I'm just too nervous still,” she wrote. “I don't think I'll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I'm feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it's been very hard keeping this in for so long!”
