<strong>WARRANTY</strong> <strong>CONDITIONS</strong><br />

(attachment to <strong>Kaeser</strong> Terms and Conditions)<br />

Screw <strong>Compressors</strong> with Sigma Profile<br />

<strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> Australia Pty Ltd ("<strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong>"), 45 Zenith Road, Dandenong provides the<br />

following warranties in relation to its Screw <strong>Compressors</strong> with Sigma Profile ("Screw Compressor").<br />

WARRANTIES<br />

Provided that the limitations or exclusions do not apply, <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> warrants that the Screw<br />

Compressor will be free from defect in materials or workmanship. If a defect appears in the Unit or the<br />

Airend before the end of the relevant warranty period, <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> undertakes to meet the costs of<br />

rectifying mechanical and electrical faults (including the repair and replacement of defective parts and the<br />

repair of defective workmanship).<br />

A Normal Warranty applies to all <strong>Kaeser</strong> products purchased from and commissioned by <strong>Kaeser</strong><br />

<strong>Compressors</strong> or its Authorised Distributors.<br />

<strong>Kaeser</strong> Australia offers an Extended Warranty for new <strong>Kaeser</strong> Screw <strong>Compressors</strong> with Sigma Profile,<br />

<strong>Kaeser</strong> Refrigerant Dryers and accessories. Only customers that have purchased compressors from <strong>Kaeser</strong><br />

<strong>Compressors</strong> or <strong>Kaeser</strong> distributors are eligible to apply for an Extended Warranty. Each application will<br />

be treated on its merits and we reserve the right to decline an application.<br />

NORMAL <strong>WARRANTY</strong> PERIODS<br />

<strong>WARRANTY</strong> PERIODS<br />

Normal Warranty<br />

Unit: twelve (12) months from the day of placing the Equipment in operation or (18) months from the date<br />

of shipment, whichever occurs first for the Screw Compressor.<br />

Airend: twenty four (24) months from the day of placing the equipment in service or (30) months from the<br />

date of shipment, without limitation of hours, whichever occurs first.<br />

Extended Warranty<br />

Extended Warranty Period information is available upon application to <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong>.<br />

<strong>WARRANTY</strong> CLAIMS - NORMAL <strong>WARRANTY</strong><br />

AND ALL EXTENDED <strong>WARRANTY</strong> CLAIMS<br />

1. In the event of a warranty claim, <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> Pty Ltd, 45 Zenith Road Dandenong 3175, or<br />

your Authorised Distributor must be informed immediately, before any work is carried out.<br />

2. To solve any problems promptly, we require detailed information on the problem. Minimum indication<br />

of the <strong>Kaeser</strong> Control Display should be supplied. <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> will quote an approval number<br />

which is a precondition for any reimbursement.<br />

3. Invoices for any work carried out without an approval number will not be covered by the<br />

Normal or Extended Warranty and will not be paid for by <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong>.<br />

<strong>WARRANTY</strong> <strong>CONDITIONS</strong><br />

Failure to comply with the following Warranty Conditions will void your Warranty.<br />

NORMAL <strong>WARRANTY</strong> - <strong>CONDITIONS</strong><br />

Normal Warranty Conditions are also outlined in the operation manual.<br />

1. <strong>Compressors</strong> and equipment must be purchased from and commissioned by <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> or<br />

a <strong>Kaeser</strong> Authorised Distributor.<br />

2. Start-Up forms must be returned within 3 days after startup<br />

3. Nominated personnel only, must maintain or service the <strong>Kaeser</strong> equipment. A nominated<br />

person can be a trained technician from the customer, a technician from an Authorised Distributor<br />

or a technician from <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong>. The nominated technician from the customer must<br />

maintain service and undertake routine checks of the <strong>Kaeser</strong> equipment, according to the<br />

maintenance manual.<br />

4. <strong>Kaeser</strong> recommended lubricants must be used.<br />

5. <strong>Kaeser</strong> genuine parts must be used.<br />

6. Any unusual noise or observation must be reported immediately.<br />

EXTENDED <strong>WARRANTY</strong> <strong>CONDITIONS</strong> AND <strong>WARRANTY</strong> PERIODS<br />

Extended Warranty - Conditions<br />

The Normal Warranty conditions apply, along with these additional conditions as applicable.<br />

Extended Warranty<br />

1 Startup Forms and an application for extended warranty must be received by <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong><br />

within 3 working days from start up.<br />

3. If the application for Extended Warranty is accepted, <strong>Kaeser</strong> will send you your Extended<br />

Warranty Certificate and Service Agreement which must be signed and returned within 7 days.<br />

4. Upon receipt of the signed Extended Warranty Certificate and Service Agreement, <strong>Kaeser</strong> will<br />

send a Registration Certificate Label which must be attached to the covered equipment.<br />

5. Nominated personnel only must maintain and service the <strong>Kaeser</strong> equipment. A nominated person<br />

can be a trained technician from an Authorised Distributor, Service Agent or a technician from<br />

<strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong>.<br />

5. Between services a qualified person nominated by the customer must carry out routine checks in<br />

accordance with the Service Manual. The results must be recorded in the maintenance manual by<br />

this nominated person and the records must be available on request by <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong>.<br />

(Depending on Service Agreement)<br />

6. Minimum service intervals for Screw <strong>Compressors</strong> are as below:-<br />

Single Shift -(Up to 3,000 hours) - One Service Per Year.<br />

Two Shift -(Up to 6,000 hours per year) - Two Service Per Year.<br />

Multi Shift -(Up to 8,760 hours per year every 3,000 hours) - Three services per year.<br />

Service intervals are as recommended in the service manual and may vary depending on the motor<br />

switching frequency and environmental conditions. Minimum service intervals must be maintained<br />

unless otherwise agreed in writing with <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong>.<br />

7. All service reports must be signed by yourselves and counter signed by a <strong>Kaeser</strong> representative.<br />

8. <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> lubricants must be used for Screw <strong>Compressors</strong> as supplied by <strong>Kaeser</strong><br />

<strong>Compressors</strong>.<br />

Further Extended Warranty Conditions may be advised upon application for an Extended<br />

Warranty.<br />

LIMITATIONS TO NORMAL <strong>WARRANTY</strong> AND ALL EXTENDED WARRANTIES<br />

1. Except as specifically set out herein, any term, representation, condition or warranty in respect of the<br />

quality, condition or description of the product, whether implied by statute, common law, trade usage,<br />

purchase or otherwise is hereby expressly excluded. The warranties are subject to and the exclusions<br />

apply to the extent permitted by State and Federal legislation.<br />

2. <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> will not be liable to the customer for any direct or indirect loss, damage, costs<br />

incurred or suffered by the customer or any other person. <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> will not be liable for<br />

any damage to any other property, loss or turnover, profits, business or goodwill.<br />

3. This warranty is not transferable and is only for the benefit of the original purchaser of the materials.<br />

EXCLUSIONS ON NORMAL <strong>WARRANTY</strong> AND ALL EXTENDED WARRANTIES<br />

Warranty does not cover:-<br />

1. Damage to the product or its component and parts caused by incorrect use, incorrect operation or a<br />

lack of maintenance in accordance with <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> recommendations, guidelines,<br />

specifications and instructions.<br />

2. Defect or damage to the product or its components or parts caused by any external source<br />

indicating electrical faults initiated by the local power supply.<br />

2. Wastage of material, wearing out of any part of the product caused by rust, or any other deposits,<br />

corrosion or deterioration due to chemical or atmospheric conditions or otherwise, scratching or<br />

painting or polishing of the surface.<br />

3. Any defect arising due to incorrect installation.<br />

4. Any breakdown caused by the use of non genuine parts or the oil type not stipulated by the<br />

supplier or interference of any kind with the product or its mechanism, or modifications, alterations<br />

or repairs carried out by unauthorised personnel.<br />

5. A change of the approved conditions.<br />

6. Any special freight requirements demanded by the customer.<br />

7. Any defect arising when money is owed by the customer to <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong> that is due and<br />

owing and not paid.<br />

Additional terms<br />

1. The service costs are subject to CPI and GST.<br />

2. The Sigma Cover price has to be paid monthly and is non refundable.<br />

3. It is <strong>Kaeser</strong> <strong>Compressors</strong>' (or its Authorised Representatives) responsibility to service and maintain<br />

the covered equipment. All spare parts, labour, travel, consumables and spare parts as well as oil<br />

are included in the cover price.<br />

4. It is the customers’ responsibility to give <strong>Kaeser</strong> or Authorised Distributor personnel access to the<br />

compressor in order to fulfil the warranty.<br />

5. Waiting time, time for induction, training required by the customer etc. and/or trips where a<br />

Service Technician did not have access to a compressor will be charged separately.<br />
