Aug 10, 1954 - Berlin, GERMANY - German actress ILSE WERNER and JOSEF NIESSEN, German composer, short before their wedding. For six decades one of Germany's most popular musical stars, Ilse Werner (born Still) came to the attention of Ufa while studying under Max Reinhardt in Vienna. But despite her distinguished theatrical background, Werner became popular mainly for her whistling prowess and her recordings of popular songs much beloved in the 1930s and 1940s.
