Yacaltecuhtli is the patron of merchants, depicted here [top left] carrying he corss-raod with merchants' foot prints upon them. This cross is similar to that used by the Aztecs for sighting the settng and rising of stars and luminaries. Yacatecuhtli or Yiacatecuhtli was the patron god of commerce and travelers, especially merchant travelers. His symbol is a bundle of staves.
